"After 6 months doing this project, the children are much more confident in their reading and have the fundamentals of addition and subtraction.
Parents can see the improvement in school work, and have told me that they are getting really positive feedback in parents evenings.
I help the children and the parents too. I encourage them to ask their children's teachers how they are learning at school, what are the difficulties. Parents don't always have the right words to ask the questions they need answers to, and I support them with that, allowing them to be active participants in their child's education.
Some children may have additional needs and parents may be unaware or unsure what to do to help them. With my knowledge, I am able to pinpoint which questions they can ask at school and how they can get the right help. I am providing not only practical but emotional support to parents, so they feel more confident in helping their children. "
